Conference Program Now Available
The 2009 Annual Conference will be hosted by Tyne Port Health Authority and held at the Marriott Gosforth Park, Newcastle from 8th-10th September 2009.
The full programme of speakers will be available soon, however we are able to confirm the following information about the programme to date.
Tuesday 8th September
Afternoon session focussed on public health introduces the conference theme Facing up to the Challenges Ahead including keynote speaker Alan Graveson, Senior National Secretary, Nautilus.
Parallel Session for Elected Members and Chief Officers
Targeted parallel sessions will provide Elected Members and Chief Officers with a strategic overview of current issues in port health.
APHA's Ship Information Management System will be launched, followed by a hands-on demonstration of key functionalities

Wednesday 9th September
With an emphasis on the environmental health and hygiene subject area, this day explores current issues in international health, shipping and aviation; with a local flavour. This day includes a river excursion (an educational tour of the river Tyne).
Thursday 10th September
This year the imported food day will be focussing on UK food and feed imports policy, incident prevention and best practice. This popular themed day will inspire delegates to meet future challenges face-on.
